My areas of clinical focus include women’s mental health and women’s reproductive mental health which includes maternal mental health. (depression and anxiety during pregnancy and the postpartum period, childbirth and traumatic birth experience, perinatal loss, and infertility). As a psychotherapist I have specialized training in working with mothers, parents, domestic violence survivors, and children. I frequently work with people having difficulty with panic attacks, depression, and anxiety driven issues. I use evidenced-based approaches in my therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, supportive therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, IPT, and reflective parenting to help you more effectively address personal life challenges. My clients find good success in relieving those issues.
As a nurse I understand the stress that illness can bring to you and your family. I have worked with individuals with chronic pain and cancer, helping them work through the issues that impact them particularly.
On a personal level, I relocated numerous times throughout the country and understand the difficulty that it brings. My experience raising a family helps me understand parents and children’s issues in a personal way.
Counseling provides a safe environment to explore thoughts and feelings in a nonjudgmental and nurturing space.
I’d love to work with you, helping you to discover and understand what is keeping you stuck or contributing to your struggles. We will work together, finding your inner resources and building on your strengths so that you foster change and live a calm, happier, fulfilling life.
