Psychotherapy is a second career for me, though I have always been motivated to help others. My past career in nursing has helped me to gain knowledge and many valuable experiences that have contributed towards this transition. As a psychotherapist I have specialized training in working with mothers, parents, domestic violence survivors, and children. I frequently work with people having difficulty with panic attacks, depression, and anxiety driven issues. I use evidenced-based approaches in my therapy to help you more effectively address personal life challenges, and my clients find good success in relieving those issues.
As a nurse I understand the stress that illness can bring to you and your family. I have worked with individuals with chronic pain issues such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. On a personal level, I relocated numerous times throughout the country and understand the difficulty that it brings. And my experience raising a family helps me understand parents and children’s issues in a personal way.
Counseling provides a safe environment to explore thoughts and feelings in a nonjudgmental and nurturing space. I’d love to work with you, helping you to discover and understand what is keeping you stuck or contributing to your struggles. We will work towards finding your inner resources and building on your strengths so that you foster change and live a calm, happier, fulfilling life.
